The Bowne House celebrates Path through History Weekend
June 16 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm EDT
Join us for a Walking tour on June 16, 2019 visiting portions of the former 300 acre 17th and 18th century Bowne House Farm and Parsons Nursery ($10.00) from 2:30-4:00 pm, with a House and Garden tour included. Tour starts at the 1661 Bowne House, oldest house in Queens and home to John Bowne and nine generations of Bowne/Parsons families.
For thousands of visitors, it has been a memorial to John Bowne and his role in securing the freedom espoused in the 1645 Charter of the Town of Flushing and the Flushing Remonstrance (1657), principles later enshrined in the First Amendment. The Bowne House is a New York City Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a State Site of National Significance.
