Join us for an afternoon of historical fun at Bowne House as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence!
What to Expect
All Day In the Garden:
Enjoy refreshing beverages on a seat in our lovely garden.
At our craft table, create a patriotic keepsake to commemorate this historic anniversary. The craft project is appropriate for kids (and adults!) of all ages.
Try your hand at family-friendly outdoor games including "Ball & Cup” and toy hoops!
Please Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the event.

Learn about the unique history of Bowne House, built over 100 years before American Independence! Our educator will take you through centuries of Bowne House history- including what life was like for the family during the era of the American Revolution. Visitors will tour three period rooms and listen to stories of Bowne family history and lore, while viewing rare collection items and copies of archival documents.
HISTORICAL READINGS:
1:00pm to 1:30pm
Listen as our educator reads aloud historical documents related to early Flushing and Bowne family history.
