HAUNTED BY HISTORY

Halloween comes once a year, but the dead speak every day at the Bowne House, the second oldest house in New York City. Nine generations of Bowne descendants lived, loved, worshipped, and died within its walls, leaving behind their stories to “haunt” this ground…

You’ll begin your tour in the oldest room of the home - built over 350 years ago - and listen along as we “resurrect” eerie voices from the Bowne House Archives. Moving into the next room, we’ll tell you tales of early American folklore and mysterious practices of years past. In our third and final room, discover the macabre history of the Spiritualist movement that swept through the nation in the mid-19th century.

Who knows… you may even glimpse the long-rumored Bowne House Ghost!
