America250 Program Hosted by Bowne House Historical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution

On Saturday, May 31st, 2025 Bowne House Historical Society and the Increase Carpenter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted an America250 program about Queens’ Historic Remsen Family cemetery and the family’s Revolutionary War Patriots buried there.

Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented a talk and slideshow, focused on the recent cleaning and restoration of Remsen family headstones. They also spoke about the roles the family played in the War for Independence and in the history of Queens, New York. The talk was followed by a guided tour of the historic Bowne House, built circa 1661.

Thank you to the Daughters of the American Revolution for providing such a wonderful program!
